Dijon was to be our last stop in Burgundy prior to heading back to Paris, and I was looking forward to exploring this city. However by the time we arrived at our accommodation for the night, the rain had begun in earnest and was not to let up throughout our stay. Sadly I was only able to grab this one image of an interesting church, complete with some very wonderful sculptures… As the rain drenched us I foolishly switched to my point and shoot to capture the some close-ups, however none of the images were sharp enough for my liking.
Out of all the towns we visited, I felt like we really did not do justice to Dijon, and saw so little really. Still, it just means we will have to return for a proper exploration…

The rain chased us all the way to Paris, where-upon we sadly returned our Renault Megane hire car and set off to climb the Eiffel Tower via the Louvre. I think the image below sums up our weather in this beautiful city nicely…

After the Louvre it was time to climb the Eiffel Tower, something we had initially planned to do on our arrival in Paris three weeks before, but decided against when we saw the May Day crowds. When we got to the second level, I shot this panoramic image using the 70-200mm f2.8 L IS lens, and subsequently stitched the image together using Ptgui. The resulting print at it’s native resolution is able to be printed to a huge size and still retain the detail and clarity that I enjoy. I have included a few detail shots below the pano to illustrate the level of detail in this file…

Time to celebrate at the top, prior to heading up to Terminus Nord for a final meal in Paris…

Great shots… Especially the second B&W one … great angle.. thanks for sharing.
Thanks Sreejith! The duck was truly in his element that day!! I gather from my family in London that the weather turned beautiful soon after we were on a plane back to Australia…! Oh well, there’s always next time…
