After Mont St Michel we stopped over in Rennes as I was interested in seeing the beautiful timber framed buildings that survived the big fire of 1720, and of course the heavy bombing of World War II. It was a very peaceful and rather quiet stroll around the old streets, as yet again we had managed to time our visit to coincide with another public holiday. In the cramped quarters (for photography) of these old streets the 17mm TS-E really came into it’s own. It really is a superb lens, and one that I regularly use to stitch panoramic images together with…

After Rennes it was time to head onto our guesthouse for the night, which turned out to be the really lovely Ker Dame Marie at La Possonniere. I really cannot praise this or the superb hosts Beatrice and Remi Bonnvialle highly enough. We were made to feel so welcome; the room was just perfect and so quiet and comfortable. The breakfast and company certainly made this place one of the accommodation highlights from our stay. Definitely recommended if you happen to be in this picturesque part of France… http://www.kerdamemarie.com/B%26B_Ker_Dame_Marie/accueil.html
