Twenty minutes outside of Hobart is the excellent Frogmore Creek Winery, located in the lovely Coal River Valley.
Although I generally favour red wines, the Estate also produces some excellent fresh cool climate whites such as Gewurztraminer, Pinot, Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc; naturally we tasted all that was on offer and it was indeed a hard choice to settle on which wine we should have to accompany our lunch! The view from the outside deck where we sampled a delicious tapas style lunch was definitely best enjoyed as a panorama…

I do enjoy a tapas array at lunchtime, particularly when tasting good wines. I don’t really want a big pub type meal, but always crave something light and tasty, and the deck menu at Frogmore certainly delivered. Highly recommended if you happen to be in the area!

It is worth mentioning that the red wines were also equally good, particularly the pinot noir. All images captured with the 5D3 and 24-70 f2.8 L II.
