This simple session of corporate portraits for the wonderful team at Beachside Complete Dental Care in Melbourne  (https://www.beachsidedental.com.au/ ) had been in the planning for quite some time, as I had originally been engaged to shoot this back in February of this year. Eventually it was possible to gather the staff from this incredibly busy practice together after surgery hours one Saturday afternoon in October in order to capture some updated images for their practice website.

Hopefully it is already obvious by my images that I really enjoy my work anyway, but this particular session was just so much fun to shoot! Dr Khang Le and Dr Chi Nguyen have assembled a brilliant professional team at the practice who were an absolute pleasure to work with; I am sure that most people do not particularly relish a trip to the dentist, however this team is so warm and welcoming that I believe they could allay the fears of even the most committed dentophobe!

I wanted to capture some images of the team both in the practice, and then to get some simple portrait shots outside using the local greenery as my backdrop. Fortunately the weather was favourable for the external shots, but I still used some small flash guns for the internal portraits; I use very fast Canon lenses for my portrait work, namely the 50mm f1.2 L, 85 f1.2L and the 35 f1.4 L and although I do shoot close to a wide open aperture I just prefer the ‘clean’ feel that comes with using a little supplemental light when shooting this type of portrait.
