Staying in the Cinque Terre at Monterosso al Mare meant that we could either catch the train, or a shuttle ferry to visit Portofino. Naturally we took the ferry option, which I would highly recommend to anyone looking to really appreciate this beautiful coastline.

Having visited San Fruttuoso, we doubled back to disembark at Portofino harbour and this impressive villa came into view; a sailboat is just visible to the right in the entrance to the harbour.
