Waterfalls, Fiordland National Park, New Zealand…

On the way to Milford Sound you encounter a tunnel that you must pass through on the journey. However just before this particular tunnel there is the most incredible landscape, with a sheer cliff face adorned with multiple waterfalls…

Walking just a few paces further on I spotted a couple of explorers at the base of one of the falls, as can just be seen in the image below (look bottom right); hopefully this will lend a sense of perspective and scale to this special place…

And the view once through the tunnel… I couldn’t help feeling like an explorer myself as this scene came into view… it reminded me of a hidden valley in some ‘Land That Time Forgot’ type of movie…
