Having not posted anything in a month due to my workload, I have been itching to get back to the beautiful south island of New Zealand images that I captured over the Christmas break; I say beautiful not because of my photography, it simply is a quite stunning and magical place! Before heading to New Zealand I had of course seen the Lord of the Rings trilogy and marvelled at the cinematography, and yet once actually there it almost felt as if the filmmakers had still not done justice to the landscape; what chance therefore had I…?
The following are a series of shots and panoramas taken during the drive from our rip-off accommodation (the only black spot on the trip) at Franz Josef Glacier to the beautiful town of Wanaka. The journey taking longer than the norm, due to my stopping and snapping!
I have processed these images over a period of a few days, so there may be a discrepancy in styles here and there. Also all the multi image panoramas have been heavily compressed to accommodate web viewing, but show incredible detail and sharpness in full resolution…

I cannot imagine a more compelling reason to visit New Zealand than your amazing photographs!
Thank you so much for your kind comments Elisa, it really is worth the trip! And the food and wine is superb in this corner of the globe too…!
