Life as a Commercial Photographer based in Melbourne Australia…
A night in Noyers…
This was a really beautiful little town in Burgundy, full of small lane ways, granite pavements and colourful half timbered houses. We stayed the night here in the Cote-Serein, Chambres de la Tour Cachee which is essentially an old castle that has been transformed into a B&B. Our lovely hosts Marie-Noelle and Lionel suggested a most excellent restaurant for us, which served exactly the regional French cuisine that we had been looking for, having been somewhat disappointed in the Loire.
This is an image heavy post, even though the town is not particularly big; it seemed that everywhere I looked, there was another still life waiting to be photographed. It was again an overcast day with fairly stormy clouds, however by carefully exposing each RAW image and checking my histogram I ensured that I was capturing the full dynamic range possible for later processing. All the images taken with the Canon 5D Mk III, 24-105 or 17mm TS-E, apart from the two food shots, which I snapped with the Canon IXUS 125 HS…
That’s why I like medieval towns and countries – every look gives you wonderful view. Probably, it is very interesting to seat near you and see how you process the RAW files. Have you published your tutorials somewhere?
Hi Victor,
As yet I have not published anything, however I am currently working on a series of downloadable movies detailing my workflow. Can’t say exactly when they will be ready, but I am aiming at the end of November (fingers crossed!) Thank you for your kind comments, I really appreciate it!
