I have to be honest, at first I thought of Rouen as simply a place to stop over on the way to the coast, but I really enjoyed the city. I discovered that it is not only beautiful, but also renowned for it’s superb late afternoon light (some of which I believe I captured). Naturally we visited the famed cathedral, and then several other traditional churches until we came upon the modernist Church of St Joan of Arc, located in the centre of the ancient market square. Described by a fellow guest at the B&B we later stayed in as ‘monstrous’, it certainly is interesting, if not a trifle ‘sudden!’ Designed by architect Louis Arretche in 1979…

Beautiful Photos
a nice reminder to my own trip: https://solaner.wordpress.com/tag/rouen/
Great shots! It certainly is a very ‘different’ church isn’t it? One of the locals I asked exclaimed C’est monstrouse! Thanks for commenting!!
